I have just posted my first call for submissions for the first CSM SU Gallery Exhibition. I made the theme Community to tie in nicely with my introduction there.

Community Tree
I am making a thumbprint tree as part of my communities project at Central Saint Martins College. I've seen people doing these at weddings and thought it would be a great conversation starter for getting to know the students and getting them to meet each other. Here are some shots of it's progress during freshers week. I hope to continue this and get as many students as possible to be a part of this piece.

Late at the V&A
I went to the Late at the V&A yesterday as University of the Arts had a Paper Planes Workshop and a flashmob organised. The Flash mob involved us all lying down in the middle of the sculpture gallery. I'm not sure how many others joined in (as I was on the floor and couldn't see much!) so it will be good to see the pictures at work on Monday!
Other events that were on included Jo Foley, an amazing trapeze artist performing at the front doors of the gallery. She was spinning and flipping around a hoop with so much speed and energy. It was compelling to watch. I also managed to sneak in to the Cloud Caves by Jason Hackenwerth after it was meant to be shut. It was really cool seeing it with hardly anyone else in; Much more intimate and eery.

Jaguar Shoes Presents Natalie Dawkins
Last night I went to the private view of my good friend Natalie Dawkins at Jaguar Shoes. I enjoyed some awesome ginger whiskey cocktails while viewing her first solo show. Her work spanned six years and integrates and feeds so well of of each other. Her latest work, Double Take (2012) shows a protagonist attempting to recreate his own Facebook photo. Which he never quite achieves. Natalie provides a really interesting avenue to look at. how we perceive others while they are conscious that they are being watched.

Damien Hirst - Lullaby
This was by far my favourite piece in the Damien Hirst exhibit. There were massive mirrored cabinets with tiny shelves on displaying thousands of pills. Due to the fractured reflection of your own image it encourages self-contemplation. It draws on thoughts about things you rely on as a crutch to get through the day. How influenced your body is by those and ultimately how fragile your life is.

Damien Hirst Spots and Butterflies
There was a lot of colour in the Damien Hirst Exhibition. The spots would be so nice to recreate for a present for someone, using this tutorial. The Butterflies seemed more in the theme of beauty and death running throughout Hirst's work.

Damien Hirst - Animals in Formaldehyde
Visited the Damien Hirst exhibition at Tate Modern today. It had some really amazing pieces, but alongside some less amazing bits. There were sheep, cows, fish, two sharks and a dove preserved in Formaldehyde. It was interesting to see how fluffy the sheep and dove appear when preserved.

Bouncy Stonehenge
Wish I was in Glasgow right now so I could jump on Jeremy Deller's inflatable Stonehenge! I love it!
I haven't seen his exhibition at the Haywards Gallery - must do that soon!
Sorry for the brief posts this week I'm busy moving!

Pick me up London 2012 part two
While at the exhibition I took part in one of my favourite activities... COLOURING IN! yay! my friend actually had to drag me away from the colouring book of the tube on sale in the shop, But here is the colouring she did allow me to do!
I have drawn what I think is inside my head. My scribbles include a cinema screening room, cameras and photos, pens and paper and post-it notes, the weather, the stars, moon and planets, gin, tea, coffee, chocolate, fruit, food, cakes, music, tulips, australia, scotland, trees, polka dots, sea, cities and ice cream!

Pick Me Up London 2012
I had my long awaited visit to pick me up today and was not disappointed! There was so much great work to see and I thoroughly enjoyed being allowed and encouraged to colour in! Here are some of my favourite bits. I also loved many-hand.co so much that I made a purchase made by Ciara Phelan. I will show my purchase tomorrow.

Pick me up 2011
I went to Pick me up exhibition last year at Somerset House. It was awesome and still wish I had bought this perticular calculator screen print. It's on again this year from 22 March- 1st April. I am tempted to get an open ticket for £12 so I can visit more than once! here are some pics I took there from last year.
p.s. starting 'what I ate today' week tomorrow!

Muséum national dHistoire naturelle
The Muséum national dHistoire naturelle had a
great selection of skeletons, specimens and stuffed animals, as all quality
natural history museums should. It also had some nice illustrations etched into
glass. Also not so good an entire exhibition dedicated to arachnids. Being phobic
I didn’t go anywhere near this, but much to my family’s amusement jumped at all
glipses of promotional material!

Cats in Paintings
Found this link on It's Nice That yesterday of famous paintings that have been "improved" by use of cats! It's so ridiculous! I love it!

The Pot Hole Gardener
I've seen Steve Wheen's gardening before in the Evening Standard, but just came across him again today here. I love how Steve draws attention to previous unnoticed areas and fills them with minute beauty. Also reminds me that I previously thought about hunting for some miniature props. I think they will liven up images or food and small objects. All images shown were found on http://thepotholegardener.com/ where I have just signed up to get each new post sent to my inbox!
